Suspend The Rules
Mark an edge in and an edge out, and suspend the ordinary rules only between them; they return at the edge out.
Formerly Liminalise
The magic circle: inside the game, only game rules apply.

Try it on your work
Take something mid-transformation (half-built, half-unpacked, half-decided) and deliberately keep it there, in use, for three days. Note what the unfinished state made possible that neither end state would.
Answer a real question with "not yet decided," formally, on the record, and keep the question visibly open past its comfortable deadline. Stop when the openness produces new information rather than just pressure, and note which arrived first.
Build an official in-between status into a process that currently has only before and after: name it, let things live in it. Once one real case has passed through, what the middle state caught is what the binary was dropping.
How it has been used
Build the conditions under which normal rules suspend: the threshold, the carnival, the airport at 4 a.m., the rehearsal room. Anthropologists mapped it in rites of passage. The move forces an edge in and an edge out: a suspension with no boundaries isn't liminal, it's just lawless.
