Seed And Leave

Put in one thing that does not belong; walk away; never tend it.

Seed bombs thrown over a fence onto an empty lot.

Try it on your work

With your hands

Leave one unfamiliar material on a table where other people make things: a coil of copper wire, a roll of tracing paper. Say nothing about it. Stop when it is put down; do not go back to see whether anyone used it.

In words

Add one word that does not belong to a list or glossary that other people edit. Do not explain it, and do not return to defend it. Stop when it is written.

In the process

Show one person in a group a small habit nobody else has: a way of folding a note, a way of signing off. Show nobody else, and never ask about it later. Stop when one person has it.

How it has been used

Put one small thing where it does not belong and walk away: a seed in a crack in the paving, one strange word in a shared glossary, one colour in a palette others use. Whether it takes is up to the place. The move forbids tending: no watering, no second planting, no going back to help it along.
